After years using R I thought I’ll try Shiny. Shiny makes it pretty easy to build and deploy web applications powered by R. My first application visualizes the t-distribution wideley used in statistics to compare two sample means.
The simulation helps students to understand how the t-distribution is related to the standard normal distribution. Students can change the degrees of freedom of two overlapping t-distributions. Since seeing three distributions at the same time can be quite overwhelming, students are also able to turn off specific distributions to get a clearer picture of what is happening.
